Bronze Artifact Tactile Replication Project

Use 3D scanning and printing to create tactile replicas of bronze vessels, allowing visitors to experience the exquisite ancient casting craftsmanship through touch.

Bronze Artifact Texture Replication Project

Project Background

In traditional museum displays, visitors can only view bronze vessels visually, unable to feel their weight, texture, or casting details. This project uses high-precision 3D scanning and printing to create touchable replicas.

Research Methods

Use a high-precision 3D scanner to capture the bronze artifact from all angles, generating a sub-millimeter digital model. Then, employ multi-material 3D printing to accurately reproduce its surface texture and weight.

Project Outcomes

  • 1Complete high-precision scanning of 20 bronze artifacts
  • 2Create 15 touchable replicas
  • 3Piloted in 3 museums
  • 4Achieve an audience satisfaction rate of over 95%
